Adele- I found Adele’s new album “21” and I cannot stop listening to it, it is definitely going to be one of the best albums of 2011, her vocals are beyond incredible and there’s one song that sticks out in particular which is beautiful to me, and it’s called “One and Only” it has a motown blues feeling to it. I can safely say that you can listen to it all the way through and love every song. Tour wise, until the end of March she will be in Europe.

Bright Eyes- I also got their new album, and it’s quite good. Not old Bright Eyes but much better than Cassadaga. A stand out track to me, is “Approximate Sunlight”, it sounds like it came off Fevers and Mirrors/Digital Ash in a Digital Urn mixed together. Which is great, and of course Conor’s lyrics are amazing. Tour wise, I will be seeing them in March in New York, I believe they also have a few more tour dates in California, for the spring, so check it out.

Fleet Foxes- They came out with a new single, which I posted on here, and it is also the name of their new album “Hopelessness Blues”. The album will come out on May, 3rd, 2011. The song itself is quite good, I enjoyed it throughly. Tour wise, I know they have a few tour dates before and after their album drops, so far it’s a small tour, and maybe they’ll add some dates for the summer. The end of the tour is in Europe.

The XX- Currently working on a new album Jamie Smith of The XX has been confirmed saying that they are writing new tracks, but not thinking about it as a whole album yet. He also said the album will sound a lot different than anything they’ve ever done. Jamie Smith of The XX will also be working with Drake on his new album.

Kanye West- He is currently writing another new album that he wants to have released in the summer. He is also playing Lollapalooza Chile with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Devendra Banhart, the National, and the Killers.

Katy B- She will release a full length album March 28th, 2011 called “On a Mission”

Iron and Wine: A Concert Review.

Location: Radio City Music Hall, New York

Review: Radio City Music Hall is quite large, but luckily I had good seats 16 rows away and tilted to the side so I could see everything. The opener, never said her name, but I believe it was Edie, she was kind of boring, the first song she played I liked and it was okay, but she dragged every song on. Then Iron and Wine came out, and he began with “He Lays in the Reins” and it was so beautiful, he then followed up with a few more acoustic songs, such as “Fever Dream” and “My Lady’s House”. After those songs, a band came out of trumpets, saxophones, pianist, and a drummer. They began to play songs I knew but he had put a new spin on them which made it really refreshing, he played old favorites and a few new ones. The only thing I could think of when he was playing was how amazing it was, truly he is a very talented artist. He then played a 7 minute long “The Trapeze Swinger” encore, which was so beautiful, it nearly brought myself and my roommate (who came with me) to tears. With every song Sam Beam poured so much emotion into it, and I feel that’s what truly made the concert amazing. I really wish he would release his refreshed tracks either the live versions or studio versions because his remake of “Sea and the Rhythm” was amazing I was in awe. He also had very funny side commentary in between songs, he’s a pretty cool guy. It was definitely worth seeing, I actually want to go again when he begins his huge national tour.
